Everything you might ever want to know about Clean Language and Emergent Knowledge is right here in Carol Wilson’s definitive book, not only about their theory and practice, but also their creator, David Grove, who died recently.

Grove was an unusual man and Wilson, through her immersion in his work and personal knowledge of him, has captured beautifully his way of working and being.

This book is all-encompassing in its coverage of his body of work, and draws on case studies from Grove and other practitioners.

Wilson aligns some of the core concepts of the techniques with coaching and shows how it enhances the notion of the client’s agenda, non-judgement, non-directive, mirroring specific words, etc.

The thorny question of where coaching boundaries start and end is very topical at the moment and working with Clean techniques can help coaches navigate sensitive or past-facing conversations with safety and ease without straying into the therapeutic arena.

An interesting and useful addition to the bookshelves of those in the coaching community.
